Everything about Lisbeth's blacksmith system -- upgrading, enhancing, materials, and when to invest in upgrades.
The Blacksmith Shop
Lisbeth runs the blacksmith shop in town. This is where you repair damaged equipment, upgrade weapons and armor to higher enhancement levels, and (eventually) craft new gear. Understanding how this system works is important because upgraded gear hits significantly harder and keeps you alive better.
Repairing Your Gear
Every weapon and piece of armor has a durability value. As you fight, durability decreases. When durability drops into the yellow zone, your stats with that equipment start to decrease. When it hits zero (red/broken), the equipment is effectively useless until repaired.
• Repair at the blacksmith for a Col fee.
• Repair costs are based on how damaged the gear is and its level.
• Check durability before venturing into long dungeons. Going into a boss fight with half durability is a death sentence.
• Carry repair items if you have them for emergency fixes mid-dungeon (though these are less effective than a proper blacksmith repair).
Upgrading / Enhancing Equipment
You can spend materials and Col to upgrade weapons and armor. Each upgrade level (shown as +1, +2, +3, etc.) increases the equipment's stats.
• Upgrades require specific materials that drop from enemies or are found in the field. Higher upgrade levels require rarer materials.
• Upgrading costs Col, and costs increase with each level.
• There is a success rate for upgrades -- failed upgrades waste materials but do not destroy the equipment.
• Early game, upgrading to +2 or +3 is reasonable. Save higher upgrades for later-game gear you plan to keep.
Player Tip: Do NOT sink all your materials and Col into upgrading starter gear. You will replace weapons and armor multiple times in the early regions. Wait until you find a weapon that feels strong and you plan to use for a while (usually around mid-game) before going past +3.
When to Upgrade vs When to Replace
• If a new weapon you found has higher base ATK than your current weapon even without upgrades, switch to it (upgrade the new one instead of further upgrading the old).
• Keep armor sets upgraded if you are taking too much damage. Upgraded armor can keep you alive through content that would otherwise require grinding.
• For endgame builds, pick a weapon type and weapon you like, then pour resources into maxing it out.
