Explore the late-game fields around the final dungeon, including hidden areas, secret bosses, rare material nodes, and worthwhile detours before facing the end.
Beyond the Main Path
The late-game fields surrounding the final dungeon are not just empty space you run through to reach the entrance. These zones contain some of the best hidden content in the game: secret areas, rare enemy spawns, high-value treasure chests, and material nodes that do not appear anywhere else. This guide covers the field content worth exploring before you commit to the final dungeon.
I recommend doing a thorough exploration sweep of these areas BEFORE you enter the final dungeon. Not only will you find useful items and upgrades that make the dungeon easier, but some of the hidden content here is among the most memorable in the game.
Notable Field Features
• High-level hunting grounds -- These areas contain enemies slightly above the story path's level. Fighting them gives good EXP and rare material drops for final weapon upgrades.
• Hidden teleport stones -- Not every teleport stone is on the main path. Some are tucked away in elevated areas or behind destructible objects. Finding them opens up fast travel access to previously remote corners of the map.
• Elite enemy patrols -- Named or visually distinctive elite enemies patrol set routes in these zones. They are tough to fight but drop rare materials and sometimes unique gear.
• Scenic overlooks and vantage points -- The late-game zones have some of the most striking views in Ainground. Some of these overlooks have treasure chests or material nodes nearby -- always check high ground.
• Breakable walls and hidden passages -- Keep an eye out for cracked or damaged walls that can be broken with heavy attacks. These hide shortcuts, secret rooms, and sometimes entire mini-areas.
Player Tip: When exploring dangerous fields, use hit-and-run tactics. Pull one enemy group at a time with ranged attacks or carefully approached engages. Fighting two or three elite enemies simultaneously in open terrain is a quick way to get sent back to the last teleport stone.
Rare Materials to Farm
Before heading into the final dungeon, consider farming these materials from the late-game fields:
• Rare ores -- Found from mining nodes in rocky and elevated areas of late-game zones. These are needed for high-level weapon enhancement.
• Late-game monster drops -- Certain enemy types in these areas drop materials used for the best blacksmith upgrades. If you see a material type you have not encountered before, it is probably worth collecting.
• Rare herbs -- For crafting high-grade consumables if you have access to crafting systems.
You do not need to grind for hours -- even 15-20 minutes of gathering and farming the nearby enemies can yield enough materials for a couple of weapon upgrade levels, which makes a noticeable difference.
Mini-Bosses and Optional Encounters
The late-game fields feature several powerful optional encounters scattered around. These are not required for story progression, but they offer good rewards and valuable practice for the final dungeon:
• Field giants -- Massive enemies that patrol open areas. They hit very hard and have huge HP pools, but their attacks are well-telegraphed and they give excellent EXP and loot.
• Flying guardians -- Aerial enemies that are tricky for melee-only players. If you have a bow or ranged sword skills, bring them. Alternatively, wait for them to dive and punish their recovery.
• Group encounters -- Some areas have clusters of enemies guarding particularly good chests. Approach these as you would a dungeon room: pull carefully, use AoE skills, and use Switch to chain crowd control.
